While the name or height of the building has not been revealed, it will reportedly be built at a prime location on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road

Dubai will soon be home to the world’s second-tallest building, according to Azizi chief Farhad Azizi, who announced the same via Twitter.

“It’s official: we are building what will be the second-tallest building in the world. My father, Mirwais Azizi, was recently invited to appear on BBC Persia, where he revealed our plans to build a new tower in Dubai which will share the skies with Burj Khalifa and other skyscrapers in the city. This will mark a breakthrough achievement for the Azizi brand, and we couldn’t be prouder, especially looking back at our humble origins in Afghanistan, when my father started the company with $500 in 1989. As for the name of this new tower, it’s still pending, but it will ultimately represent the Azizi Developments brand,” Azizi said via Twitter.

While the name or height of the building has not been revealed, it will reportedly be built at a prime location on Sheikh Zayed Road.

In an announcement last November, the blueprint for an upcoming tower was unveiled.

This skyscraper has the potential to overshadow both the towering Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, reaching a height of 2,227.3 ft, and the magnificent Shanghai Tower, which stands at an impressive 2,073.4 ft, reports have suggested.

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa stands as a symbol of architectural magnificence, capturing the world’s imagination since its completion in 2010.

The Burj Khalifa reigns as the tallest building in the world, soaring to an astonishing height of 828 meters (2,717 feet). Its height shatters previous records and embodies Dubai’s ambitious vision to create extraordinary structures.

Designed by the Chicago-based architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the Burj Khalifa showcases a breathtaking fusion of Islamic and modern architectural elements. Its sleek profile and distinctive setbacks are inspired by the Hymenocallis desert flower.

The skyscraper’s construction involved a groundbreaking feat of engineering. Its reinforced concrete structure, combined with a steel spire at the top, provides stability and strength against high winds and seismic forces.

Burj Khalifa houses a diverse range of functions within its 163 floors, including luxury residences, corporate offices, Armani Hotel Dubai, and observation decks. The tower effectively functions as a vertical city, accommodating the needs of its inhabitants and visitors.

At the pinnacle of the Burj Khalifa, the observation deck “At the Top” offers unparalleled panoramic views of Dubai and beyond. Visitors can witness breathtaking vistas of the city’s skyline, the vast Arabian Gulf, and the sprawling desert landscape.

The Burj Khalifa integrates cutting-edge technology to enhance its sustainability and energy efficiency. Features such as a condensate collection system, solar panels, and a high-performance façade contribute to its eco-friendly design.

Every evening, the Burj Khalifa’s exterior transforms into a canvas for the world’s tallest LED-illuminated façade. The stunning light show, accompanied by music, captivates audiences and has become a hallmark of Dubai’s vibrant nightscape.

As one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world, the Burj Khalifa attracts millions of visitors annually. It has become an essential component of Dubai’s tourism industry, offering a unique and unforgettable experience for all who visit.

The Burj Khalifa has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious “Global Icon” title by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). It also holds records for the highest occupied floor, the highest outdoor observation deck, and the tallest service elevator.

The Burj Khalifa symbolises Dubai’s vision, ambition, and determination to push boundaries. It represents the city’s transformation into a global hub for business, tourism, and innovation, cementing its status as a modern wonder of the world.
